Why we recommend Plausible over Google Analytics

Plausible, Simple and privacy-friendly analytics

At Working Gears, we have started recommending Plausible analytics over Google Analytics. Although Google Analytics is considered the most detailed and in-depth when it comes to the data it collects, it's not always the most privacy friendly.

Plausible

Three reasons why we recommend Plausible:

  • 1. Plausible analytics is privacy-focused and does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII), which makes it compliant with privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This can be an important consideration for businesses that are concerned about protecting their customers' data.
  • 2. Plausible analytics is lightweight, and has a low impact on your website's performance. This has the advantage of not slowing down your website or its loading times. This can be beneficial for businesses that want to ensure that their website is fast and user-friendly, plus, performance is a key metric for SEO.
  • 3. Plausible analytics is open-source and transparent. Any user can view the source code and verify that it does not collect any PII or use any data for any purpose other than providing analytics. This is key to ensure that their data is being handled in a responsible and ethical manner.
